Lindenborg Castle

Lindenborg Castle

When you drive from Aalborg to Hadsund in Jutland on your right hand side suddenly Lindenborg Castle appears, - a truly magnificent fairytale castle. It can be dated back as far as to 1367, but it was ruined during a feud in 1534, so what you see was built between 1583 and 1616. The castle is privately owned and run as a lumber mill, a farm and a forestry. In acreage it is one of the largest mansions in the country. Lindenborg is also well known for the deer hunt.

The Castle and the surrounding parks are not open to the public, but you can see it clearly from the road. There is a rest area very close to the castle, so take a short break and your camera. It really is magnificent!
