The viking plays

The stories about the vikings are being told through plays or interactive activities throughout the country all summer.

If you find the life and stories about the vikings interesting, you owe it to yourself to watch one of the outdoor plays. This year the Viking plays in Frederikssund will be performing a play called "Svend Tveskaeg" / "Sweyn Forkbeard" about the son of Harald Bluetooth, Sweyn Forkbeard, who was banished from Denmark after a violent fight.

In the Viking Center of Ribe you can see how vikings worked or even try out your own skills in one of the workshops. Roll up your slieves and grind some flour and bake a flat bread, shoot with arrows or participate in a viking game - or the less couragous people are welcome to watch the "real" vikings work.

The Viking Ships

If you would like to get even more involved, how about a real viking ship trip !, where you will need to roll up your sleaves and help setting the sail and do the rowing?

You can start with taking a virtual trip , and while you are at it, take a look at what other Viking experiences, the Viking Ship Museum has to offer. A huge variety of cool stuff to see and take part in, if you want to know what it feels like to be a Real Viking
